Snow Design Assets

Snow Software has a design team working as an on-demand expertise provider. We each can get assigned to projects but work together on common knowledge documents, design system components and materials. These are examples of some of the work done for the design team

Design system components

Each new design component is created by a pair of designers. I got to co-create a few simple components such as tags or card widgets. The time range picker was the most complex component I got to research, test and work on. I was also trusted to clean Figma the structure of complex components such as our table.

Internal knowledge base

Thanks to my experience with our data intelligence team for the Package Builder I was able to create a document explaining how our core product works, the main issues and jobs to be done by our customers as well as the main challenges our system deals with in terms of shared data between services.

Promoting design QA

Because our product became under pressure for implementation issues. I became responsible for promoting the value of Design Quality Control between design and production. After performing a control on our design system I created internal document such as how to do a QA together with a checklist to check if every point where respected. This initiative was further expanded by other designers who started to control consistencies between several design projects.

Accessibility frame work

Together with an other designer, we worked on a project to make our design system and product WCAG compliant. As part of this work, I wrote down and documented the keyboard accessibility for our most complex components.

Choose the right data visualisation

As Snow started to build more dashboards and recommendation tools. We identified a gap of knowledge within the team on how to pick the right data visualisation. Together with a senior designer, we gathered our expertise and online documentation in order to create a chart decision tree supported with documentation on how to create an impactful data visualisation.
